Monday, 19 September 2011 13:55 |
Can we do better than this?
The Stormwater Industry Association of WA is hosting a 1 day conference "Stormwater Harvesting in Western Australia - Hydropolis 2012". The conference is scheduled for March 2012 in Perth.
The recent drought and concerns about climate change have all highlighted the need to manage our water resources more sustainably. Over recent years, stormwater harvesting and reuse have emerged as a valuable field in sustainable water management. The intention of this Conference is to present and discuss theory, case studies and the future of Stormwater Harvesting in Western Australia.
In WA, the term “stormwater” includes shallow groundwater as well as surface water. Also, the term “harvesting” includes storage in both tanks, open basins, infiltration to the ground surface and into deeper aquifers.
