Local Government Guidelines for Subdivisional Development 2009 - Edition 2
The WA Division of the Institute released for public use the revised edition of its Subdivisional Guidelines on 20 July 2009.
These are available for download from their website. These Guidelines will be further reviewed in the light of experience with their application by local governments. For further information and to download the Guidelines see http://www.ipweawa.org.au
These 2009 Guidelines are intended to underlie and support subdivision conditions applied by the Western Australian Planning Commission pursuant to the Planning and Development Act 2005. The Guidelines encompass current legislation and best practice minimum engineering standards. They are intended to guide local government and the development industry through engineering specification, construction and post construction subdivision approval.
IPWEA has committed to update the guidelines on a regular basis with the first review occurring in mid 2010 however comments are invited at any time from users of the Guidelines to assist with the further refinement of the document. Thereafter the reviews will be biennial.
The Department of Planning and IPWEA urge developers, designers and approval authorities to employ this document as their basis for subdivision engineering design and construction. Local Authorities are also strongly encouraged to formally adopt these Edition 2 guidelines as the basis for sub divisional engineering approval within their municipality.
